Curriculum
Although the Forest Town curriculum is underpinned by the aims of the National Curriculum, it is based upon a thematic approach
which ensures connections in learning are made. It has been designed to recognise and build upon our children’s learning through the
use of a progressive set of skills, knowledge and understanding for each subject. These not only allow the previous learning to
become embedded, but also give the children a good foundation of knowledge to build their new learning from. It offers a variety of
experiences such as visitors and trips for the children to develop a wider knowledge of the world; it allows our children to be
adventurous whilst developing perseverance. Every child is recognised as an individual and we celebrate the differences within our
community.
We aim for our children to leave Forest Town Primary as creative thinkers with a sense of belonging to a school family with the confidence and skills to become life long learners.
