FAMOUS PEOPLE’S ACHIEVEMENTS!
Show Children pictures of the following famous people:
David Walliams – writer, swam Thames, TV career, JK Rowling, Usain Bolt, Ellie Simmonds
Neil Armstrong …
Can they identify any of them?
(Ensure Children know the names of each person).
What have they all got in common?
All these people have achieved a goal in their life and explain how other people can inspire us to achieve!
Look at each person’s achievements.
Watch some video clips showing their achievements and discuss.
Talk about how these famous achievers probably began with a dream and with hard work and determination it came true for them!
Children to complete
‘If I could achieve ANYTHING, what would it be?’
Chn can choose a ‘future’ achievement that they would like to become famous for! (Explain it can be an imaginative achievement if they wish)’
Chn to ‘present’ their ideas orally.
KS1 – Orally say what they would like to achieve.
KS2 – If confident, present their achievement as a speech explaining what they have achieved (pretending they are now successful in their dream!)
