Tuesday

Quick recap on Paul Klee (he was introduced children yesterday).

Look at ‘Senecio’.

Talk about the use of shapes and colours.

  • What is this a painting of?
  • Who do you think it is?
  • What can you tell me about the expression on the man’s face?
  • What colours can you see?
  • What shapes can you see?
  • How does this piece of art make you feel?

The task:

Children to draw a portrait or self-portrait in the style of ‘Senecio’. Children to draw a circle for the face, split the face in half and then use shapes to create facial features. Use oil pastels, paints, felt tips or pastels to blend, or alternatives in the home if you have different resources.
