I haven’t learned to do this… YET!
Ask Chn to put their thumbs up if they can:
Ride a bike, swim without armbands, read etc. Ask Chn if they could always do these things?
Think of your hardest achievement (Adult’s could share one of theirs)!
Did you ever feel that you would never achieve it?
Discuss having a ‘growth mind set’ in order to achieve).
Watch ‘I can’t do that, YET!’ – Esther Pia Cordova
Choose some goals that you haven’t achieved …YET but you have been working on, e.g. riding my bike without stabilisers, learning to swim, reading my first book, playing tennis etc.
Children to complete
Create a ‘Yet Yetti’ Monster using paper / card / materials. (To help Chn visualise). DRAW / WRITE something you have been trying but haven’t achieved yet.
KS1 – Chn may need some oral guidance. Draw / label.
KS2- Chn can choose how they wish to record their ideas. Reflect on the ‘barriers’ that they need to overcome.
