Nottingham Catering has supported schools during the Covid-19 lockdown and will continue to provide healthy and nutritious meals when schools return in September.
From September, we will continue with the current menu for the new Autumn/Winter term. This menu has been approved by all Schools and Academies and is tasty, healthy and offers a wide range of choices. Allergen data, gluten free/dairy free and special dietary requirements are all in place (for those that have formally requested them). Our menu will be available on each school’s website so that everyone can see our extensive offer.
Following discussions with individual schools, we will change and adapt arrangements for the dining service to incorporate pupil bubbles and ensure official guidelines are followed. This may mean having several lunch sittings or serving lunch in more than one location.
During October and November we are increasing the number of theme days in every school. In December, we will be celebrating with our Christmas theme menu. Make sure you look out for them.
We are pleased to announce we have three new Development Chefs who will be working on new and exciting dishes to go on future menus. They will visit schools, engage with pupils and offer taster samples during lunch times. They will also work alongside schools to deliver food education to pupils, this could include attending pupil councils, setting up cookery classes and working with the school’s growing clubs.
Despite the challenging time we have all faced recently, we are looking forward to a new academic year and to serving all of our schools as they welcome their pupils back.
