COVID-19 (coronavirus) Update 17-03-2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
The situation regarding the coronavirus is developing at a rapid pace. We will, therefore, continue to issue regular updates to help us all respond promptly to the latest guidance.
New 14-Day Self-Isolation Requirement
As I am sure you are aware, Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, made a statement to Parliament yesterday, which included the following: “We are today advising that if you or anyone in your home has a high temperature or a new and continuous cough, then you should stay at home for 14 days. If at all possible, you should not go out even to buy food and essentials. Instead you should ask others for assistance with your daily necessities. The exception to this is for exercise. Even then, you should keep at a safe distance from others.”
Please follow this guidance carefully. We will, of course, be applying the same rules to staff members, which may involve temporary staffing adjustments; for example, the greater use of supply teachers or the re-deployment of staff.
