Our main learning aim this week is to be able to partition a 2-digit number into tens and ones. Drawing sticks for 'tens' and squares for the 'ones'.

 

From this the children should recognise that the 'tens' number and the 'ones' number add together to total the whole 2-digit number they started with. (e.g 20 + 4 = 24)

 

This understanding can be shown through what we call a fact family. Here is an example below of what the children will be working towards doing independently this week.
