Each week our children will take part in Outdoor Learning sessions which link to our topic and help the children explore the wider environment and natural resources. These sessions help the children to reflect and learn about themselves, each other and their environment. These sessions provide positive memories and lasting benefits that impact their academic achievement, personal and social development, care for the environment, wellbeing and mental health. Our Outdoor Learning sessions take place regardless of weather so children are advised to bring suitable clothing. We do have some spare wellington boots and waterproof overalls.
We ask that all children bring a named water bottle to school with them so they have access to water throughout the sessions.
We attend the library every 3 weeks where we change our books. Please ensure the books are send back before our trip. If any parents/carers are able to join us please let a member of staff know.
Please ensure that all uniform is clearly labelled. We already have a number of jumpers and cardigans which we cannot return to their owners as there are no names in them. Thank you for your support.
Within the Foundation Unit we use Tapestry as a way of documenting the children’s learning. We will use Tapestry to record observations, comments and photos to show progress across the Early Years Foundation Stage. You will be able to access your child’s Learning Journey from a computer via https://tapestryjournal.com or by using the ‘Tapestry’ App on mobile devices. You will only be able to access this by using the log in details that will be sent to you on receipt of the signed user agreement below. This will only give you access to your child’s Learning Journal and you can change your password if wished once you have accessed your account; other family members can be given access on your request. Tapestry is a GDPR compliant company using secure servers in the UK to store data.
Many of the most meaningful photographs taken in school show children interacting in group play or activities with peers, we therefore ask that these photos are for your own viewing and not shared publically or uploaded onto any social media websites. We feel that this is a positive way of sharing information and as well as viewing our contributions, you will also be able to add comments, photos and video of achievements at home.
