Belong, Aim High, Succeed

Friday

Recap contrasting colours and the colour wheel, children should still have colour wheels. Recap paint mixing (children have covered this previously in earlier units) how will they be able to mix the colours they need from the colour wheel to make their pictures.

How can we lighten our colours? How can we make them darker?

Encourage children to try their best to paint within their lines using a fine paintbrush – for younger children this may be more challenging but support them show them how they can go over their black lines at the end again if they need to. Encourage childrenn to mix bright contrasting colours to use in their paintings, referring back to their contrasting colour work and colour wheels.
