Monday 29th June

Environmental sounds

Can you find something in your house that makes the sound of something in the story. For example, can you find something that sounds like Goldilocks knocking on the door or that sounds like her eating porridge from a bowl with a spoon. Perhaps you have a sound like the bears walking up the stairs.

Wednesday 1st July

Segmenting and blending

Choose an object from the attached sheet and ask your child to find the correct picture by blending together the word that you segment for them. For example, you may segment “ch-air” and your child would find the chair.

Friday 3rd July

Rhyming

What do you know that rhymes with the word bear? Can you draw, or have a go at writing, some of these things? You could do it on paper or with chalks outside.

Tuesday 7th July

Environmental sounds

Play sound clips to your children that could represent parts of the story, can your child guess which bit of the story this sound might be from? You could play a bear’s growl, a girl screaming (Goldilocks when she sees the bears), something breaking like baby bear’s chair or footsteps running away at the end.

Thursday 9th July

Voice Sounds

Now you are familiar with the story, can your child join in with the spoken parts? Focus on changing your voice for each of the bears and for Goldilocks.
