Rhyming
How many different words can you think of that rhyme with pig?
Are the all real words or did you think of some silly ones too?
Optional Phonics for Wednesday 17th June
Environmental Sounds
Play the children a range of animal sounds, can they name them all? Can the children pick out the sound a pig makes and the sound a wolf makes?
Optional Phonics for Friday 19th June
Mouth movements
Take part in your own huff and puff experiment! Choose some objects from around your house that you, as the wolf, are going to blow over!
Think about the shape of your mouth when you huff and puff. Do you need big, long breaths to blow the object over or softer breaths?

Alliteration

Can you practice saying the following sentence “Pink pigs pinch purple pirates” and “Pretty pigs poke pink pumpkins”

Talk about how all the words begin with the same letter, this is called alliteration. Are these sentences easy to say or hard? Can you think of another sentence where the words all start with P?
