|All of our school dinners are cooked on site, provided by Nottinghamshire County Council. The menu works on a 3 weekly cycle, meaning there is always a range of foods for the children to enjoy. We provide one (hot) set dinner each day.
A school dinner costs £2.30 daily for Y3-6 children and this should be paid each Monday for the week (£11.50). Money should be sent in an envelope/purse, clearly labelled with your child’s name, and handed to the Class Teacher.
Please note we are unable to provide a school dinner for anyone arriving after 10:30am unless you have given us prior notice that you will be arriving late.
|Universal Free Meals
EVERY child in Foundation 2, Year 1 and Year 2 currently receives a free school dinner every day, regardless of whether you are in receipt of means-tested benefits, which is great news for families and saves £11.50 a week – that’s more than £400 per year, per child! Our school dinners are tasty, healthy and provide your child with a main course and pudding which will give them the energy they need for the afternoon. It also saves your family time as there’s no need to make your child a packed lunch.
Providing a school dinner for every child in school who wants one is quite a challenge so here’s how you can help us to do it:
Your child will be expected to have a school dinner every day for a 3-week period. This enables us to order and cook the correct amount of food for all the children and helps avoid waste.
If your child has any medical allergies to particular food or requires a special diet for religious reasons, you must let us know as soon as possible.
If you wish to opt out of this scheme and bring a packed lunch, you must write to inform us of this decision.
|Even though your F2, Y1 or Y2 child is entitled to a free school meal, if you do receive a means-tested benefit, you will still need to register for free school meals. This will ensure that school receives additional funding called ‘Pupil Premium’ which can help support teaching and learning in school. You can register for free school meals by telephoning 01623 433009 or click here to visit the Nottinghamshire County Council website.
