Grey Squirrels – Miss Daynes

Here is our class page telling you all of the lovely things we get up to in the Grey Squirrels !

This term in Grey Squirrels we are reading ‘Plunge into the Pirate Pool!’. We love the story and have done lots of work already on descriptive writing. As we are learning about pirates we are very much looking forward to seeing the production in school and getting chance to dress up!

Our topic this term is water, water everywhere! We have loved having our knowledge organisers and have already seen lots of exciting learning happening at home. In school we have made rain gauges (which you can see on the fence) and thought about lots of ways that we can be waterwise in our homes and at school.

In computing this term we are learning about alogorithms. They are very tricky and we are doing lots of work without the computers to help us prepare and understand how to use them properly. We now know how important it is to have specific instructions that are in the right order. We thought about how many instructions we needed just to brush our teeth and we were blown away!

Our PE skills are really improving. This term we are practising our bean bag skills. We have been using balances and learnt how to throw and catch using underarm throws and cupped hands.
